　「Worldcat」という英文の図書館サイトに賀川豊彦関連の国際的な出版状況を網羅するページがあるのを見つけた。

　587の作品（本と論文）が21の言語で891社から出版社され、10,348の図書館に保存されているというのだ。出版された年では1936-37が最も多く、賀川自身が88作品がを、賀川については24作品が活字化されている。３日に１度、賀川の本や論文が書かれていたというとんでもない年だったといえよう。
　Worldcatが把握する言語別出版数は右の表の通りである。 英語367冊もあるというのだから驚く。さらに英語に次いで多いのがフランス語やドイツ語ではなくスウェーデンというのも興味深く、ノーベル文学賞の候補になっていたというのもうなずける。

　賀川自身の著作のランキングは次の通りとなっている。宗教書が過半を占めているのが特長である。トップの『SONGS FROM THE LAND OF DAWN』（Friendship Press, Inc., 1949）は「Kagawa, Toyohiko & other Japanese Poets」という副題がついているから、賀川の詩だけを集めたものではなさそう。また名著『死線を越えて』はトップテンにはなく、小説では『一粒の麦』が４位になっており、1933年から36年まで英語で13版が出ているというから驚く。『友愛の政治経済』は８位と“健闘”しているのではないかと思われる。（Gilbert Kelly Robinsonという人物が1937年４月に『Review of Brotherhood Economics』をThe Journal of Religionに書いている。）
